Queen’s is a member of the Russell Group of the UK’s 24 leading research-intensive institutions and is home to more than 17,000 students and 3,000 staff. The School of Law has over 160 years of experience in teaching law and is ranked in the Top 10 in the UK with an impressive 8th overall in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2013. In the latest Research Assessment Exercise 95% of research in the School was rated of international quality and above, with 60% of research rated as world-leading or internationally excellent.
The School of Law at Queens seeks to interact with the wide community of people who have an interest in the study of law, whether it be locally, nationally, regionally or globally. At undergraduate level Queens offers the LLB single honours degree and at postgraduate level specialized courses in criminology, governance, international commerce, environmental law and human rights are available. Notably, Queen’s is the only university in the UK to offer a JD (Juris Doctor). The School is developing joint programmes with other universities in Ireland and the US.
